I hope I've done this properly. I'm trying to link to a review of Tobias Smollett's _The Expedition of Humphry Clinker_. As is true of most 18th century novels, one of the main points is trying to pin down the real identity of many of the characters, who are traveling under false names, or who don't know who they really are.
The Chemistry of Death was a happy, if accidental, find. The author, Simon Beckett, is English, but I found out about it on a South African crime blog, Crime Beat. Graphic descriptions of what happens to bodies left outside and a very gripping read.
I added my review to mr linky, but my brain blanked and I forgot to say that it's a review of World Without End by Ken Follett, from England. Is there anyway I can fix that?
This is why you should never post after bedtime! :)
Oops! I didn't ask Mr. Linky how to post properly and I goofed - was planning to post a review of Yrsa Sigurdardottir's Last Rigutals but ended up with just my blog. Sorry ... my reviews are mostly not on my personal blog. I 'll have to figure out how to do this....
I just realized one of my books spans the Mediterranean so maybe I can count for Europe AND Africa. But that's cheating, I suppose... The main char is only on the African continent a day (or a few paragraphs.) I can do better.
I've a question about books and authors. I have book that take place in Morocco and is written by a Moroccan; however, the author has lived in France for decades. I want to list him as an African writer. Is that acceptable?

BiblioJunkie (Jovenus) - I actually think The Heart of the Matter should be in Africa (Sierra Leone) OK if I move it?
I thought that I was a rockstar for already finishing one book. Turns out that I am number 23.
Beastmomma: oh, some of these readers read a book more often than I change socks ;D
Indeed Dorte! We are reading with the olympic readers!
Beastmomma: I was afraid you would ask me how often I change socks ;D
Oops, added an extra H to my link. Don't know how to fix that.
All fixed Seana
Thank you, Kerrie.
Just finished book no. 1. Forgot to add in the link that it's from Turkey.
Whether Turkey is Europe or Asia might be a matter for debate Bibliophile.

I've fixed your link Fred. You need to include the URL of the post on your blog, and the Title of the book and author help too
Kerrie,
Thanks. I'm really new to all this linking and so forth. I think I added the URL to my blog, or at least I added it somewhere.
And thank you from me, Kerrie! I really appreciate that you take the time to set everything right :D
This is Camilla Läckberg's first novel and it is a terrific addition to Scandinavian crime fiction. I'm adding her to my "must read" author list.

Barbara: I think I have fixed it.
I have my two European novels but I loved this book and felt compelled to include it.
Mack: it is great if participants get into a habit of reading MORE global novels than they had planned :D

Care: I am sure you can do better. On the other hand, if you should choose to cheat, it is not likely that I would notice! LOL

Linda: but certainly! I am sure he knows more about Morocco than a French author who has lived in Morocco for decades.
Besides, I am not going to police anyone. As long as you get some good, global reading experiences, the challenge fulfils its purpose.
Just added some expanded and update reviews I did earlier in the year, along with the new Patterson/Marklund thriller

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't post the name of the book on the link. I'm new to this. Dorte... if you can add it I will appreciate it.
Yes, it appeals to the masses. Yes, it has been run into the ground. But I still loved it!
